Christmas Vacation Movie Review
Whether you are looking for a funny movie to watch over the holidays or just want to see how many times you can watch it, Christmas Vacation is a must-see. Not only is it one of the best Christmas movies, but it also has a wonderful ending and is definitely worth watching year after year.
Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo are back in a classic holiday comedy that you just can’t get enough of! Taking place at their home, this third instalment of the Vacation series follows Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) as he plans the perfect Christmas for his family. But when he invites all of his relatives to stay with them, things start going haywire!
Aside from being a fun film, Christmas Vacation is also a heartwarming movie that highlights family values. The entire movie revolves around Clark trying to make his family happy by bringing them all together. But as he puts more and more pressure on himself to have a perfect holiday, everything begins to go wrong.
The humor is slapstick and off-color, and there are a lot of fart jokes that will have you laughing out loud. It’s a very funny film and you will have fun watching it over the holidays with friends and family.
It has a great score, and is full of laugh out loud moments that you won’t be able to forget! Director Jeremiah Chechik has a blast bringing all of the family and Christmas traditions to life in a fun way that only the Griswolds could do.
When he’s not putting his family through their paces, Clark’s wacky cousin Eddie (Randy Quaid) is an absolute hit with the audience. His cocky attitude is hilarious to watch and he is an excellent character to root for throughout the whole movie.
There are plenty of funny set-pieces and great performances from everyone in this film. Chevy Chase is an outstanding actor and he brings his best performance to this role as Clark Griswold.
D’Angelo is also a fantastic actress as Ellen Griswold, and she compliments Chase well. There is also a great cast of supporting characters including Johnny Galecki, Juliette Lewis and Randy Quaid who all have a great role in this movie.
Another wonderful movie that you can watch over and over again is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. This is a great movie to watch during the holidays as it will definitely brighten up your mood and you will have a great time with all of the comedy that this film has to offer!
If you like this film, you should watch the sequel Christmas Vacation 2 and also watch other classics such as Fanny and Alexander. They are all great movies that you can watch over and over again as well!
John Hughes was a great director and he had many a great ’80s and ’90s classic, but this is probably his best and most successful. His screenplay for this film is very good and the actors give their best to make it a hit.
